Prime Minister Bhattarai welcomed AIT's exploration in the setting up of satellite campuses in a number of targeted countries, and viewed this as a good idea, which Nepal should welcome, and assured AIT of the government's full support and assistance, in such plans.
As a symbolic contribution on the part of Nepal, Prime Minister Bhattarai assured AIT that the government will try and set aside a number of scholarships for Nepalese nationals to study at AIT targeting the August 2012 intake, in a number of areas of study that are of priority to Nepal.
AIT is thankful to the Government of Nepal for its strong and continued support to AIT, and to Chief Secretary Mr. Ghimire, for having kindly helped facilitate the meeting, and for his instrumental role in the process leading to the ratification of the new AIT Charter by the Government of Nepal. AIT is equally thankful to Mr. Madhusudan Paudel, AITAA Nepal Chapter President, Mr. Kiran Dongol, Vice President, AITAA Nepal Chapter, and the many distinguished alumni for all their support and dedication to furthering AIT's cause.
Mr. Sanjeev Jayasinghe, Director Fundraising, Mr. Karma Rana, Institute Secretary and AIT alumnus Dr. Laxmi Prasad Devkota also joined the meeting.
